Session 2: Saving Taxes for Small Businesses: Learn about the types of taxes businesses pay and how to minimize your business and personal taxes.
Presenter: Rand Hansen
Rand has been one of SCORE Omaha's Entrepreneur Workshop presenters for almost 30 years, presenting monthly without a single absence. Rand presents on taxes, accounting and loves what he does. Rand says “helping and guiding people who are hoping to start a new business has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career
His career began in the hospitality industry where he spent several years in the hotel and motel business. Many of his clients are in the restaurant, retail, manufacturing industries and medical fields. Rand has a great deal of experience with start-up businesses. While he handles a lot of tax preparation, tax planning and accounting for his clients, he does much more than that for them. He guides them in preparing financial projections, budgeting, asset acquisition, cash flow planning, long-term planning and obtaining credit with their bank.
About the series: The Business Planning Program for Artists and Art Based Non-profits is a collaborative flagship program by the Benson Theater, Score Omaha and local organizations supporting artists in turning their passions into sustainable business ventures.
During this program, each session engages the participants with content in an interactive way so that they learn from peers and speakers, and put the new knowledge into practice.
The unique value about the collaborative experience created for artists is the individualized coaching delivered after each workshop session. Each participant completing this program will demonstrate certain financial and organizational skills and will have an opportunity to pitch their business idea to investors at the artist fair. A Certificate of Participation will be attributed to each participant upon successful completion of 4 out of 5 sessions.
