Federal Women-Owned Small Business Federal Contracting Program – New Certification Process

Please join Virginia Smith, Branch Manager of the Rochester SBA Office and Anna Vulaj Fitzsimmons, Program Director of the Monroe County Finger Lakes Procurement Technical Assistance Center, to discuss the WOSB Programs and upcoming changes.  This webinar is for both currently certified firms and those interested in the programs.

The Federal Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) Federal Contracting Program was created to help provide a level playing field for women business owners. When buying goods and services, the federal government limits competition for certain contracts to WOSBs and economically disadvantaged women-owned small businesses (EDWOSBs) that participate in the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) WOSB Federal Contracting Program. Becoming certified for the WOSB Federal Contracting Program means your business is eligible to compete for WOSB Federal Contracting Program set-aside contracts within eligible industries. These contracts are in industries where women-owned small businesses are underrepresented. 

New York State also has its own Women-Owned Business Enterprise Certification, which provides specific State contracting opportunities for Women-Owned businesses.
